Founded in 1888 as the Bloomington Sketch Club, the McLean County Arts Center is one of the midwest's oldest community-based arts organizations.  In addition to organizing the Sugar Creek Arts Festival, the MCAC offers sixteen exhibitions per year, classes in ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing, and more.

As a community-supported 501(c)3 non-profit operations are overseen by a board of directors and the facility is managed by a paid professional staff.

Doug Johnson has served as Executive Director for the past eighteen years.  He serves on the board of Arts Alliance Illinois, the state-wide non-governmental arts advocacy group.
